Midfielder said there are people who “don’t want us to win”
Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been charged by the Football Association for accusing English referees of being partial and not wanting his side to win.

The incident came after a goal scored by Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke against City stood, despite the forward kicking through the back of Marc Guehi’s foot. City eventually surrendered a two-goal lead and drew 2-2.
“I know we won too much and the people don’t want us to win, but the referee has to be neutral,” Rodri said after the game. “It’s not fair because we work so hard. When everything is finished, you are frustrated.”
The FA said in a statement: “It’s alleged that the midfielder acted in an improper manner during a post-match media interview by making comments that imply bias and/or question the integrity of a match official and/or match officials, contrary to FA Rule 3.1. Rodri has until Wednesday 18 February to provide a response.”
