Premier League champions rejected a €67.5m bid from Bayern for Diaz last week
Luis Diaz is continuing to push for a move away from Liverpool this summer, with Bayern Munich preparing a second offer for the Colombian winger.
Liverpool rejected a €67.5m bid from Bayern last week, but sources familiar with the negotiations say the German club are now lining up an improved offer of around €70m plus performance-related add-ons in an effort to sway the Premier League champions.
Diaz enjoyed his most productive season yet at Anfield last season, scoring 17 goals as Arne Slot’s side ran away with the Premier League title. But despite his positive form, the player reportedly wants a new challenge.
Diaz admitted earlier in the summer that his representatives were speaking to other clubs “to sort out what’s best for him”. Barcelona showed interest in the player but Liverpool flatly rejected their advances.
The Merseyside club still have two years left on Diaz’s contract so they are in a very strong position. Fulltime Herald explained that Liverpool want to keep the player for the full two years and are not worried about losing him for free in 2027.
There has been little news regarding a contract extension for Diaz but it is not out of the question, with extensions for key squad leaders Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk not agreed until the final year of their contract.
However, sources told ESPN that the club could soften their stance on Diaz and allow him to leave much later in the window.
