Liverpool has rejected Bayern Munich’s formal €67.5 million offer for winger Luis Diaz, with the club valuing him at over €100 million and considering him a key part of their plans.
Liverpool has turned down a lucrative offer from Bayern Munich for Colombian winger Luis Diaz.
The German giants submitted a formal bid of €67.5 million (£58.6m), but Liverpool immediately rejected it. According to reports, the Premier League champions value Diaz at over €100 million, although this figure is reportedly for accounting purposes rather than an indication that the club intends to sell.
Diaz has been a pivotal player for Liverpool, particularly in their 2024-25 Premier League title triumph. Under manager Arne Slot, he scored 13 goals in 36 league matches, showcasing his exceptional skill and speed on the wing.
Since joining Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37.5 million, Diaz has made 148 appearances, scoring 41 goals and providing 23 assists across all competitions.
Despite his impressive performances, Diaz has reportedly made it clear to the club that he wants to leave. However, Liverpool views him as an integral part of their plans for next season and beyond. The club has communicated this stance to Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and other interested parties, reiterating that Diaz is not for sale.
The rejection of Bayern’s bid suggests that Liverpool is determined to hold onto Diaz, despite his expressed desire to leave.
With two years remaining on his contract, the club may be looking to negotiate a new deal or simply retain him for the foreseeable future. Diaz’s value to Liverpool extends beyond his on-field contributions, and the club seems unwilling to let him go without a significant struggle.
