The Argentine still has two years left but Konate, Robertson and Jones are all nearing the expiration of their contracts
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is not worried about his contract situation at Anfield and has said there are currently no discussions over a new deal. The Argentina international also said he feels no urgency to change that.
Mac Allister is still under contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2028, but his case only adds to the bigger subject of a number of senior players at the club with uncertain futures.
The 27-year-old, who joined from Brighton in 2023, said that there have been no negotiations between him and Liverpool but that he is comfortable with how things stand.
“In terms of me, we are not in contract talks but I’m not in a rush and that’s only a fact,” Mac Allister said.
Mac Allister has endured a challenging campaign so far, with Liverpool’s midfield struggling to replicate the performance and consistency that helped power the club to the Premier League title last season.
Even so, Mac Allister has remained a central figure in the side since arriving on Merseyside and was instrumental in that title-winning run.
One of his midfield teammates has already secured long-term security. Ryan Gravenberch signed a new six-year contract this week, extending his stay after becoming an important part of Liverpool’s midfield unit.

Gravenberch, Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai all arrived during the same summer overhaul in 2023 on five-year deals. With Gravenberch now committed to fresh terms and Szoboszlai reportedly negotiating an extension of his own, Mac Allister took time to congratulate the Dutchman.
“I want to congratulate Ryan,” said Mac Allister. “It’s really good for him and he deserves it because he’s been a really important player for us in the season that we won the Premier League which is not easy at all. Congratulations to him.”
Last summer also saw Liverpool navigate contract issues involving several high-profile players. Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah eventually agreed new deals while Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid after his contract expired. Their inability to replace him may have played a part in their troubles this term.
There are further decisions to make in the near future. Defenders Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson are both entering the final year of their current agreements, while midfielder Curtis Jones will soon move into the final 12 months of his contract.
