Arne Slot’s side start at home against Bournemouth; visit to Bramley-Moore Dock will wait until April next year
Liverpool will kick off their Premier League title defence at Anfield against Bournemouth, as revealed in the 2025-26 fixture list released on Wednesday. The reigning champions face a demanding start to the season, with crucial tests coming early as they look to maintain momentum from their triumphant 2024-25 campaign.
The Reds face a challenging August that includes a trip to Newcastle United and a clash with Arsenal at Anfield. Arne Slot, who will have a shiny new £116m asset to play with, will be eager to lay down a marker against fellow top-four rivals in the opening weeks.
The first Merseyside derby of the season is set for mid-September at Anfield. Liverpool would have to wait until April of next year to visit Bramley-Moore Dock. In a demanding October, Slot’s side have back-to-back fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester United, before facing Manchester City at the Etihad in November. The return leg at Anfield will be played in February.
A tough end to the season awaits, since after the second Merseyside derby Liverpool will face Manchester United and Chelsea back-to-back once more. Those fixtures could be decisive in the case of a title race in the run-in.
