Leao to Miss AC Milan-Bologna Match

AC Milan star Rafael Leao is set to miss the upcoming match against Bologna due to a calf injury, while new signing Christopher Nkunku is ready to make his debut off the bench.

Rafael Leao’s return to action for AC Milan has hit a setback as the Portuguese winger is expected to miss Sunday’s league game against Bologna.

Leao suffered a calf injury during a Coppa Italia match against Bari on August 17, which has kept him sidelined. Despite training separately, the 26-year-old is unlikely to recover in time for the Bologna match.

AC Milan will reassess Leao’s condition in the next 48 hours, but it seems improbable that he’ll be available for the game. However, the club hopes he might be fit for their away match at Udinese on September 20.

Meanwhile, new signing Christopher Nkunku is set to make his debut for Milan against Bologna. Although the former Chelsea striker is not yet fully fit, he’s expected to start on the bench. Milan doctors initially estimated Nkunku could play for around 30 minutes, but his availability for the match is a positive development for the team.

Nkunku’s debut will be closely watched, given his reputation as a skilled and creative player. His addition to Milan’s squad could provide a much-needed boost to their attacking options. Despite Leao’s absence, Milan will look to make the most of their available players and secure a positive result against Bologna.

Leao’s injury has been a concern for Milan, and his recovery will be crucial for the team’s success. The club will need to manage his return carefully to ensure he’s fit for the challenges ahead.
