Lazio secured a 4-0 victory over Hellas Verona, with Taty Castellanos scoring one goal and providing two assists in a standout performance.

Lazio got their first Serie A win of the season after a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Hellas Verona, extending Verona’s winless run against the Biancocelesti to eight games. Maurizio Sarri’s side came into the match looking to bounce back from their opening-day defeat at Como.

The match got off to a flying start for Lazio, with Mattéo Guendouzi clinically firing past Lorenzo Montipò in the third minute after being expertly teed up by Taty Castellanos. The Argentine’s influence continued to shape the game, and seven minutes later, he audaciously teed up skipper Mattia Zaccagni to score an expertly taken finish.

Verona struggled to find their footing, with head coach Paolo Zanetti growing increasingly frustrated on the touchline. Despite Antoine Bernède’s shot cannoning off the post, Verona’s hopes of a comeback were dealt a significant blow when Castellanos added Lazio’s third with a header from Nicolo Rovella’s free-kick.

The second half saw Lazio continue to dominate, cutting through Verona’s defence with ease. However, they spurned a golden opportunity to add a fourth when Matteo Cancellieri blazed his attempt over the bar after beating the offside trap. Castellanos went close again with a long-range effort that flew just wide, and Guendouzi had a goal chalked off for offside.

Bernède was one of Verona’s few bright spots, almost netting a consolation with a close-range strike. However, Verona’s defence remained porous, and Lazio sealed the win with Boulaye Dia’s simple tap-in from Reda Belahyane’s ball across the box.

The victory marked Lazio’s fourth consecutive win against Verona, leaving Zanetti with plenty to ponder as his side looks to improve on last season’s 14th-place finish. For Lazio, the win was a statement of intent, showcasing their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.
