Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior is facing an uncertain future at the club, with growing interest from European clubs. Mikel Arteta wants him to stay, but the player’s desire for regular football may lead him to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Jakub Kiwior’s future at Arsenal is hanging in the balance as several European clubs have expressed interest in signing the Polish defender.

Despite being a reliable option for Mikel Arteta since joining from Spezia in January 2023, Kiwior’s role in the team is now under review. The 25-year-old has featured in key games, often covering for first-choice defenders Gabriel Magalhães and William Saliba during busy periods.

Kiwior has been impressive when called upon, showcasing his composure and positional awareness. He formed a strong partnership with Saliba in the heart of defense, helping maintain defensive stability during a crucial stretch last season. His performances earned him praise, and he contributed one goal and two assists in 30 appearances for Arsenal.

Arteta values Kiwior’s role in the squad and wants him to stay. However, the club’s situation in the transfer market could change things.

Arsenal have been active in the summer window and need to balance their books, which may lead to several players being allowed to leave. The arrival of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia has added extra depth in central defense, potentially limiting Kiwior’s playing time.

The Gunners reportedly turned down an offer from a Portuguese side earlier in July, but more clubs are still interested in the defender.

Kiwior is aware of the interest and may consider his options. Playing time will be a major factor in his decision, especially with the World Cup around the corner. If he feels his chances of regular football are limited, he may seek a move elsewhere.
