Kingsley Coman reflects on his departure from Bayern Munich, citing a complicated situation and mixed feelings from the club’s management.
Kingsley Coman, the 29-year-old French winger, has spoken out about his departure from Bayern Munich, revealing that the situation was more complicated than initially thought.
Coman left Bayern Munich this summer to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, and in a recent interview with L’Équipe, he shared his side of the story.
According to Coman, the period leading up to his transfer was difficult, and he claimed that part of Bayern’s management wanted him to leave. “Just before the transfer went through, there were some things – which I won’t mention – that complicated the situation,” Coman said.
Despite this, he emphasized that he wasn’t pushed out, but rather told that the club was open to a departure due to its financial situation.
Coman revealed that he had the support of the coach, fans, and some members of the management, but not everyone shared the same enthusiasm. “I had the love of the coach, the fans, and some people in management… but not everyone,” Coman said. “There was a part of the club that wanted me to leave, and that part weighed heavily on my mind.”
Despite the complicated circumstances surrounding his departure, Coman still holds Bayern Munich close to his heart. “I’ll go back to say goodbye, because I spent almost ten years there, and it’s still the club that means the most to me,” he said. During his time at Bayern, Coman made 339 appearances, scoring 72 goals and providing 71 assists.
