The match had gone to penalties after Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi equalized in stoppage time, canceling out Maxence Lacroix’s own goal in the 80th minute.
Arrizabalaga’s save was a turning point in the shootout, and he credited his mental toughness for the decisive moment.
“It was a change of mindset, and it worked,” Arrizabalaga said. “Credit to the guys, they took amazing penalties. They keep us in the game, and they give me an opportunity to make a save.”
Arsenal will now face Chelsea in the League Cup semifinals.
