Chelsea’s Reece James commended Josh Acheampong on his performance in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea’s impressive 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday was marked by standout performances from Reece James and Josh Acheampong.

Acheampong opened the scoring with his first senior goal for the club, showcasing his growing confidence in the starting lineup under Enzo Maresca. James, who assisted Pedro Neto’s goal and scored the third, acknowledged the team’s tough first half but praised Acheampong’s impact.

“He’s playing more (regularly) and showing the world how good he is and what he’s capable of,” James said about Acheampong. “He’s an amazing boy, and an amazing player. Long may it continue.”

Acheampong reciprocated the compliments, highlighting James’ inspiration as a Chelsea academy product. “It’s an inspiration to know that you can come through the academy and play for Chelsea’s first team,” Acheampong said.

The win propels Chelsea into the top four spot in the Premier League, narrowing the gap to leaders Arsenal to just two points. Arsenal will face Fulham later, adding to the excitement of the league’s top-of-the-table clash.

If Arsenal win, they will hold onto the top spot and extend their lead over Chelsea by five points.
