English winger willing to take a pay cut to make move work

Borussia Dortmund are considering a move for want-away Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.

However, the club reportedly have doubts about bringing him back for what would be a third time.

Sancho spent four years at Dortmund before joining Manchester United in 2021, and then was loaned to the club for a second stint in the 2023-24 season.

Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl has already said the club are exploring the possibility, but clarified that any deal would need to fall within their tight budget.

“Jadon is constantly being linked with us,” said Kehl. “I understand the desire. We’re thinking about it within our possibilities. The conditions have to be right. We will definitely do something, but we’re limited.”

Sancho remains frozen out at Manchester United this summer after failing to secure a permanent move to Chelsea after a six-month loan.

Chelsea declined the option to extend his stay, reportedly due to the player’s high wage demands.

However, Sancho is now understood to be willing to reduce his salary to make a move to Dortmund work, according to Sky Germany.

United coach Ruben Amorim said he was willing to take back Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia if the club were unable to sell them before the window closes, but this might be extremely difficult in Sancho’s case after his falling out with the club.
