Inter Milan has submitted a fresh bid for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, worth €45 million, in a bid to sign the Nigerian forward despite Atalanta’s valuation of €50 million.

Inter Milan have stunned Atalanta with an improved second offer for elite forward Ademola Lookman, exceeding their expectations.

The Nerazzurri’s initial bid of €40 million was comfortably turned down by Atalanta, who valued their talismanic ace at a minimum of €50 million. However, Inter refused to meet this valuation and instead returned with an increased offer.

The new bid, worth €45 million (€42 million upfront plus €3 million in add-ons), was submitted in writing, demonstrating Inter’s serious interest in signing Lookman. Atalanta didn’t expect Inter to raise their opening bid, but they’re taking their time to evaluate their options.

Atalanta’s valuation of Lookman at €50 million hasn’t changed, and they’re yet to respond to Inter’s improved offer. However, with an expiration date attached to the bid, La Dea can’t take too much time to decide. Lookman himself has already agreed to join Inter on a multi-year contract, with a reported annual salary of €4 million.

Inter’s pursuit of Lookman is driven by their desire to strengthen their attack, with the Nigerian forward being their top target. Lookman’s impressive performances, including a hat-trick in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final, have made him a valuable asset. His versatility, pace, and technical ability make him an attractive signing for Inter.

The negotiations between Inter and Atalanta will be closely watched, with the outcome uncertain. If an agreement is reached, Lookman will join Inter on a permanent deal, having rejected other clubs, including Napoli, in favor of the Nerazzurri.
