Inter Milan is considering a move for Roma’s wing-back Wesley as they prepare for life without injured Denzel Dumfries, who recently underwent ankle surgery.
Dumfries is expected to be out for 2-3 months, prompting the club to search for alternatives on the right flank. Wesley is a regular starter for Roma under Gian Piero Gasperini and is seen as a suitable replacement for Dumfries.
Wesley’s profile fits Inter’s ownership strategy, being young, experienced, and earning around €2m per season. However, Roma is expected to demand a significant fee, likely starting at €30-35m. Inter might consider including Davide Frattesi as a bargaining chip to lower the cost.
The need for a credible alternative has grown after Dumfries’ surgery, which was confirmed successful by the player himself. Dumfries stated he’s focused on recovery and will do everything to return to the pitch as soon as possible.
Inter had previously missed out on Manu Koné in the summer, making Wesley a priority target. The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their squad, and Wesley’s experience and skills make him an attractive option.
