Inter Milan beat Cremonese 2-0 away from home to extend their Serie A lead to eight points.
Inter Milan continued their commanding march toward the Serie A title with a routine 2-0 away victory over Cremonese, extending their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
Goals in the first half from Lautaro Martinez and Piotr Zielinski were enough to secure all three points, as the Nerazzurri maintained their dominant domestic form.
Given the contrasting fortunes of both sides, Inter wasted little time asserting control. Conte’s men dominated possession early on, with Pio Esposito and Šučić both testing the home defence in the opening exchanges as Cremonese struggled to settle into the contest.
The breakthrough arrived in the 15th minute, courtesy of a familiar source. Dimarco delivered a pinpoint outswinging corner, and Martinez rose highest to head home his 13th league goal of the season, further underlining his importance to Inter’s title push.
Cremonese nearly found a swift response from a set-piece of their own, as Ceccherini came close with a flashing effort that drifted just wide. However, any momentum the hosts were building was halted moments later when Inter doubled their advantage.
On the half-hour mark, Zielinski unleashed a stunning strike from 25 yards, sending the ball into the top-right corner and leaving the home crowd stunned. The goal effectively killed off Cremonese’s hopes of mounting a serious comeback before the interval.
The second half was briefly disrupted when play was stopped after a flare thrown by Inter supporters landed near Cremonese goalkeeper Emil Audero. Once the match resumed, the hosts showed brief intent, with Zerbin forcing Yann Sommer into a straightforward save, but clear chances remained scarce.
Despite Zerbin striking the woodwork late on, Inter never looked in real danger and comfortably managed the closing stages. The win keeps the Nerazzurri firmly in control of the title race, while Cremonese remain without a league win in nine matches and hover dangerously close to the relegation zone.
