Juventus coach Igor Tudor expressed satisfaction with his team’s attitude in their 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund, despite acknowledging the limitations of pre-season friendlies.

Juventus coach Igor Tudor was breathing a sigh of relief after his team’s impressive 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in a pre-season friendly.

The win, courtesy of Andrea Cambiaso’s brace, showcased the team’s potential ahead of the new season. Tudor highlighted the positives from the match, emphasizing the importance of attitude and preparation over winning.

“It’s hard to analyze friendlies, there’s still some freshness and speed in the legs missing,” Tudor said after the match. “But the boys did well.” This statement underscores the challenges of assessing team performance during pre-season, particularly when players are still finding their rhythm.

The Italian coach prioritized his team’s attitude and preparation, stating, “The important thing today was that nobody got injured, so that’s good. Winning doesn’t matter much, it’s essential to show the right attitude, to be in the right condition and prepare as best we can for the important games.”

Tudor’s comments also touched on the team’s fitness levels, acknowledging that they still need to work on playing time and fine-tuning their skills. With the quick turnaround between the FIFA Club World Cup and the start of the Serie A season, the team is racing against time to get match-fit.

Juventus will take on Atalanta in their next pre-season friendly before facing Parma in their opening Serie A match.
