Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Brighton has sparked intense debate, with some labeling them as the villains of the Premier League title race.

The Gunners’ hard-nosed approach has come under scrutiny, with Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler criticizing their style of play.

Hurzeler was unimpressed with Arsenal’s performance, saying, “I think there was only one team who tried to play football today, and therefore I’m proud of how they did it.” He felt that Arsenal’s tactics were overly defensive and time-wasting.

Mikel Arteta defended his team’s approach, responding to Hurzeler’s criticism with a sarcastic “what a surprise”. He emphasized that his players are loved and that they will continue to compete with passion and intensity.

The win extends Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table to seven points, with Manchester City still having a game in hand.

Hurzeler accused Arsenal of trying to win by dark arts and criticized the referees for not enforcing the rules. He wants the Premier League to set limits on time-wasting and other tactics that he feels are unfair.

Arteta remained unfazed, saying, “I love my players, and I love the way we compete.” He believes that his team’s approach is working, and they will continue to push for the title.

The debate surrounding Arsenal’s tactics is not new, but this win has reignited the discussion. Some are calling them the villains of the Premier League, while others praise their determination and resilience.

As the title race heats up, Arsenal will face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in the EFL Cup final before meeting in April in the Premier League.

Will Arsenal’s tactics ultimately lead to success, or will they be remembered as the most unpopular champions in Premier League history? Only time will tell.
