Chelsea earned around £18.2 million in total prize money for winning the UEFA Conference League. This amount includes a guaranteed £2.7 million for participating in the competition, £2 million for winning all six games in the league phase, and £670,000 for qualifying automatically for the last 16.
Additionally, Chelsea received £335,000 for finishing in the top eight and £830,000 for finishing top in the league phase. Their run to the final was worth £6.6 million, and the victory over Real Betis netted them £2.5 million.
Interestingly, Chelsea’s win came at a cost for Manchester United, who missed out on a potential £306,000 windfall payment due to a loan agreement with Real Betis.
The payment was contingent on Betis winning the Conference League, which would have added to Manchester United’s coffers. Jadon Sancho, who was on loan to Chelsea, scored in the final, while his teammate Antony, who was on loan to Betis, didn’t have a significant impact on the game.
