Rasmus Hojlund scored a brace as Napoli beat Cremonese 2-0, moving into second place in Serie A. The victory follows their recent Supercoppa Italiana success.
Hojlund opened the scoring in the 13th minute, netting from just inside the six-yard box after a blocked Leonardo Spinazzola effort. He then had a chance to extend Napoli’s lead but was denied by a heavy touch.
The Dane made no mistake on the stroke of half-time, bagging his second goal of the afternoon and sending Napoli into the break two goals up. Antonio Conte’s side never really reached top gear before the interval.
The second half saw Napoli continue to assert their dominance, with chances falling to Hojlund, Scott McTominay, and Amir Rrahmani, but the hosts struggled to find a way back into the game.
With less than 20 minutes remaining, Napoli wasted a glorious chance to notch a third goal, with Hojlund and Noa Lang getting in each other’s way.
The win boosts Napoli’s title ambitions, ending 2025 on a high after a recent loss to Udinese. Cremonese, meanwhile, remain 12th after their third successive game without a win.
