Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane is enjoying the special atmosphere of the Club World Cup and is confident his team can go all the way after their 2-1 win over Boca Juniors.
Harry Kane described the Club World Cup atmosphere as “special” after scoring the opener in Bayern Munich’s 2-1 win over Boca Juniors.
“It was a tough challenge in the heat and humidity of South Florida,” Kane said after the match. “But there’s something special about these World Cup games. When you come off the pitch, sweating and dripping, having given everything, there’s a special feeling inside, especially when you win.”
Kane praised his team’s performance, saying they should have been 2 or 3-0 up by halftime. “The second half made it more difficult,” he added. “But we hung in there and got the win.”
The England striker appreciated the incredible support from the Boca Juniors fans, who made up the majority of the 63,587-strong crowd. “It felt like an away game out there for sure,” Kane said. “Their fans were really loud. It was a great experience to play in front of them, and I think that’s what makes the win even more special.”
Kane is enjoying the opportunity to face different teams and test himself against opponents that European clubs rarely face.
“I think it’s great to experience different teams,” he said. “You have to be ready for the next game, the next opportunity. So yeah, I’m loving this tournament so far.”
The win over Boca Juniors has Bayern Munich looking forward to the next stage of the competition. “I think we have a good opportunity,” Kane said. “We started the tournament really well. I think the style we play is difficult for any team.” With this confidence, Bayern Munich looks set to go far in the tournament.
Kane also acknowledged the significance of the win, being the first European team to beat South American opposition in the tournament. “It’s great to be part of that,” he said, adding that the team is happy and will sleep well after the win.
Overall, Kane’s confidence and enthusiasm are palpable as Bayern Munich looks to continue their success in the Club World Cup.
