England captain Harry Kane is fit and ready to lead his team against Latvia in a crucial World Cup qualifier, with a win potentially securing their place in the tournament.

England captain Harry Kane has been cleared to play against Latvia in Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier, manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed on Monday.

Kane missed England’s 3-0 friendly win over Wales due to an ankle injury, but Tuchel assured that the striker is fit and ready to lead the team.

The Three Lions are currently topping Group K with maximum points after five matches, and a win against Latvia would give them an unassailable lead and secure their place in next year’s World Cup.

Despite winning all their group games without conceding a goal, England have faced criticism for their performances, particularly against Andorra.

However, Tuchel believes that his team is building momentum and moving in the right direction. “I feel that we are building something and we are going in the right direction,” Tuchel said. “But as always in sports, tomorrow is the most difficult game. Tomorrow we have to show respect to our opponent, respect the circumstances.”

Kane’s return to the lineup will be a significant boost for England, who have relied heavily on their captain’s goalscoring prowess. With 74 goals for his country, Kane is England’s all-time record scorer, and his presence in the starting lineup will undoubtedly give England an attacking edge.

Tuchel also provided an update on Ollie Watkins, who withdrew from the England squad due to injury. Watkins suffered a painful injury during the friendly match against Wales and is currently undergoing treatment with his club.
