Ferran Torres, Rapinha and Robert Lewandowski are all injured for the La Liga champions

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick could call upon Marcus Rashford to lead the attack as the club prepare for a decisive run of fixtures without several key forwards.

The Catalan side face Olympiacos in the Champions League this week before hosting Real Madrid in the weekend’s clásico, but their preparations have been hampered by a series of injuries that have stripped away much of their attacking depth.

Flick will be without Ferran Torres, Raphinha or Robert Lewandowski on the trip to Greece, and their participation in the clásico is also uncertain.

Both Torres and Lewandowski suffered injuries while on international duty with Spain and Poland respectively, while Raphinha went off injured against Real Oviedo.

Barcelona’s manager said Rashford could be called upon to fill the void.

“Rashford is a good option as a No 9, but he can also play as a No 11,” said Flick. “That’s what we thought when we signed him: he can play as a No 9 or No. 11, and it’s great to have him in our team.

“He’s improved a lot in recent weeks. He gives us a lot of positives, and of course, he can play as a No 9.”
