Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy could be available for just €35 million this summer, with several top European clubs monitoring his situation.
Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy is once again attracting attention ahead of the summer transfer window, with fresh reports suggesting his release clause is lower than previously believed.
The forward’s future has become a major talking point as interest from top European clubs and Saudi Arabian sides continues to grow.
It has long been known that Guirassy’s contract with Dortmund includes a release clause that can be activated by a select group of elite clubs. Earlier reports indicated that the clause was set at €50 million, but new information suggests that figure may have been overstated.
According to recent claims, the release clause is actually closer to €35 million. However, the clause is not immediately active, as it can only be triggered during the latter stages of the summer transfer window. Until that period, Dortmund remain free to negotiate directly with interested clubs and potentially command a higher fee.
Several teams have already been linked with the striker, including Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and clubs from Saudi Arabia. Interestingly, reports suggest that none of those sides are currently among the select clubs eligible to activate the reduced release clause.
Guirassy is believed to be open to leaving Dortmund at the end of the season, with the 28-year-old keen to secure one final major contract in his career. Despite being tied to the Bundesliga side until 2028, the striker’s ambitions and market demand have made a summer departure increasingly plausible.

Clubs that are reportedly able to trigger the clause include European heavyweights such as Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United. Barcelona, in particular, are said to be assessing Guirassy as a potential long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, with manager Hansi Flick believed to admire the forward’s profile.
For clubs outside the release clause agreement, Dortmund could demand a significantly higher fee. Reports suggest the German side may seek as much as €80 million from teams that cannot activate the clause, including interested Saudi Arabian clubs.
Guirassy’s brother and agent previously explored interest from the region, and that option remains on the table.
The striker’s strong form has only increased his appeal, with Guirassy scoring five goals in his last three appearances. His performances over the past year, including a standout hat-trick against Barcelona in last season’s Champions League, have reinforced his reputation as one of Europe’s most clinical forwards, ensuring his future will remain one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer sagas.
