Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman confirmed the midfielder’s substitution was a precautionary measure
Liverpool expect Ryan Gravenberch to be available for Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Manchester United despite being substituted at half time during the Netherlands’ win over Finland.
The 23-year-old midfielder was taken off during the 4-0 victory in Amsterdam after feeling tightness in his hamstring.
It caused some concern among Liverpool supporters ahead of the weekend derby. However, Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman confirmed after the match that the decision was purely precautionary.
“Ryan indicated he had some minor hamstring problems,” Koeman said. “Of course, we didn’t take any risks with that.”
Gravenberch is due to return to Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre early this week where the club’s medical staff will assess him ahead of the weekend fixture, but his fitness is not thought to be an issue.
The Dutchman has been a key figure for Arne Slot’s midfield. He was one of the main parts of the title-winning combination last season, earning him the Premier League young player of the year award.
Liverpool face Ruben Amorim’s United at Anfield after losing three straight games in all competitions to fuel talk of a crisis.
