Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior delivered team news during his press conference ahead of the Chelsea vs Wolves game.

Chelsea return from a 1-0 (4-2 aggregate) defeat to Arsenal to face Wolves in the Premier League as they continue their push to finish in the top 4. Chelsea lost the first leg of the EFL Cup 3-2 to Arsenal, went on a 5-game unbeaten streak, and then lost 1-0 to Arsenal on Tuesday, effectively crashing out of the competition.

In the return leg against Arsenal, Chelsea were without Reece James and Pedro Neto, and speaking to the media today, Rosenior said that both James and Neto would need to undergo more tests to ascertain if they would play the Wolves game.

‘We don’t know yet [on James and Neto]. We had training today, which was a recovery day for the lads who played in a really tough, physical game on Tuesday. We will check them tomorrow and make a decision then.’

He also added that Palmer and Estevao, who came off the bench vs Arsenal, are both fit to play 90 minutes vs Wolves.

To close out the press conference, Rosenior added that Gittens was injured. Gittens, who made a substitute appearance in the 3-2 win over Napoli, was later replaced in the same game. He hasn’t featured for the Blues since then.

‘Jamie is looking a little bit more long-term. It’s a real shame for him; he’s got a tear in his hamstring.

‘That’s a real shame for him as, obviously, I’ve not worked with him for too long, but I know about his career and what an outstanding player he is. So that’s going to be a big miss for us.’

Chelsea will be looking to shake off the Arsenal loss and get back to winning ways when they play Wolves.
