Gabriel Jesus is poised to make a long-awaited return for Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday, according to manager Mikel Arteta.

Arteta revealed that Jesus has been registered for the Champions League in place of Max Dowman, who sustained an ankle injury while playing for the under-21s. Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard are also sidelined, with Rice ill and Trossard injured.

The Brazilian striker has been out since January with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but has been pushing hard to recover and was an unused substitute against Chelsea and Brentford recently.

Arteta praised Jesus’ determination, saying he had been pushing every day to return to training, telling everyone he would be back earlier than expected. Jesus has been training with the team and is ready to make his return.

Arsenal are dealing with a lengthy list of injuries, including Kai Havertz, Cristhian Mosquera, and William Saliba. The team is looking to maintain their perfect record in the Champions League despite these setbacks.

Arsenal will face Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Jesus eligible to play after being registered for the tournament.
