Argentina international sustained a knock on Sunday and has not trained with the team
Real Madrid midfielder Franco Mastantuono did not join the rest of the squad in training on Tuesday.
This follows a knock the Argentine sustained in the club’s 2-0 win over Valencia on Sunday. The squad were given Monday off but, on the first day back in training on Tuesday, Mastantuono was asked to stay indoors and complete a special physiotherapy session.
The rest of the players stayed on the training pitch for the regular sessions. Madrid have no fixtures in the middle of this week after exiting the Copa del Rey at the hands of second division side Albacete.
Athletic Club face Real Sociedad on Wednesday while Barcelona face Atletico Madrid on Thursday in the semi-finals. Madrid’s next game is on Saturday, when they will also face Sociedad in La Liga.
Mastantuono will rejoin full training on Wednesday and is expected to be fit enough for the weekend’s game against Sociedad.

The rest of the squad also engaged in some fitness drills as Madrid continue to nurse their injury issues this season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal have returned to the side, but Eder Militao is a long-term absentee and Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham remain out. The latter two are expected to miss Sociedad’s weekend visit.
