AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is determined to make it to the 2026 World Cup with England, having rediscovered his form under Massimiliano Allegri.
Fikayo Tomori, the England international and AC Milan defender, is keeping his World Cup dreams alive. With his contract approaching its fifth anniversary, Tomori has regained his spot in the starting lineup, thanks to Allegri’s guidance.
Tomori’s resurgence has sparked hopes of an England recall, and he’s been in touch with coach Thomas Tuchel, who encourages him to keep performing at his best. “Do I want to go to the World Cup? Of course,” Tomori said in an interview.
The defender knows winning the Serie A title would boost his chances of making the England squad. “I want it for myself, and I know that winning the league will help,” he added.
Tomori acknowledges the tough competition for England’s defense, citing players like John Stones, Marc Guéhi, and Ezri Konsa. Yet, he’s confident in his abilities, bolstered by Tuchel’s interest in his progress.
Tuchel has been monitoring Tomori’s performances, even calling up teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek. “That gives me confidence that I can make it,” Tomori said.
Despite the challenges, Tomori remains focused on his goal. “The World Cup is still a dream, and I’m working for it every day,” he concluded.
