FIFA introduces a limited number of $60 “Supporter Entry Tier” tickets for the 2026 World Cup, aiming to make the tournament more accessible to fans amid criticism over high ticket prices.

According to FIFA, the discounted tickets will cover all 104 matches, including the final, and will make up 10% of Participating Member Associations’ (PMAs) allocations. PMAs will handle ticket distribution and prioritize “loyal fans” closely connected to their national teams.

FIFA’s ticket pricing structure includes four tiers: Supporter Entry Tier ($60), Supporter Value Tier (40% of PMA allocation, priced variably), Supporter Standard Tier (25% of PMA allocation), and Supporter Premier Tier (25% of PMA allocation). Prices for other tiers range from $120-$3,000, depending on the match and seat location.

Fans applying through PMA programs whose teams don’t advance to the knockout stage will have administrative fees waived for refund requests. This policy aims to mitigate the financial risk for fans investing in tickets for teams that may not progress.

The 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches. FIFA reported strong interest in the ticket sale’s third phase draw, driven by the release of match schedules, venues, and kick-off times.

While FIFA’s move has been welcomed, some fan groups argue the revisions don’t go far enough, citing limited availability and high prices for other tiers. Football Supporters Europe (FSE) accused FIFA of imposing “extortionate” ticket prices that could prevent average fans from attending the event.

The Supporter Entry Tier tickets are available through PMAs, with applications open until January 13, 2026. Fans can check (link unavailable) for more information on ticket availability and pricing.
