English football’s giant-killers Macclesfield have been handed another tie against a Premier League team in the FA Cup fourth-round draw.
The National League North side, coached by John Rooney, brother of Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, made history by becoming the lowest-ranked team to beat a Premier League side in the FA Cup, after they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday.
There were 117 places separating Macclesfield and Palace, and by the time they face Brentford in the FA Cup fourth round, there might be 125 places separating the two teams. Brentford are currently fifth in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, Manchester City, who eviscerated League One side Exeter 10-1 on Saturday, will face either Salford or Swindon Town, both of whom play in League Two. Salford and Swindon Town are yet to play their third-round game.
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will be returning to his former club Hull City, where he played the longest football of his playing career in a four-year spell. Arsenal will welcome Wigan to the Emirates; Liverpool, if they survive League One side Barnsley, will face Brighton; and Aston Villa, third in the Premier League, will face Newcastle, who are currently sixth.
Games will be played from 13-16 February.
