Chelsea’s Pedro Neto faces FA disciplinary action after the red card incident against Arsenal.

Chelsea’s Pedro Neto is facing further disciplinary action from the Football Association (FA) after his red card incident against Arsenal.

The FA has charged Neto with acting in an “improper manner” by failing to leave the pitch promptly and/or using abusive words towards match officials.

Neto was sent off in the 70th minute of Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on March 1, 2026, after receiving two yellow cards. The FA’s charge means Neto could face additional punishment, including fines and suspensions, depending on the outcome of the investigation.

The winger has until Monday, March 9, 2026, to respond to the charge. If proven, the severity of the punishment will depend on the specifics of the incident.

Chelsea’s disciplinary issues have been under scrutiny, with the team accumulating seven red cards in the Premier League this season. Liam Rosenior has acknowledged the team’s disciplinary problems and is working to address them.

The red card meant Neto was absent in Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa, where the team performed well without him.

Rosenior has revealed that Neto has apologized for his actions, but the coach emphasizes the need for improvement in the team’s behavior. “I just need to see an improvement in the behaviour now,” Rosenior said.
