It was the ideal homecoming for Eberechi Eze as he scored the only goal that saw Arsenal beat Crystal Palace in the London derby.

Arsenal won 1-0 against Crystal Palace in the latest London derby and it was Crystal Palace’s former hero that gave the Gunners the lead and eventual win.

The first half was a torrid affair for both sides and given that Chelsea, Liverpool and City had dropped points, Arsenal needed to win to extend their lead at the top of the table.

The Gunners kept knocking at the door but to no avail until they had a set-piece.

Arsenal had a free-kick around the Crystal Palace box which was swung in by Declan Rice. Gabriel headed the ball into the path of Eberechi Eze and with an acrobatic kick, Eze slammed the ball into the net.

This marked his first Premier League goal for the Gunners since signing for them in the summer.

His goal was the difference between the two sides at the end of the game as Arsenal took all three points and extended their lead at the top.
