Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca talks about how Chelsea will approach the Club World Cup.
Enzo Maresca has spoken ahead of Chelsea’s trip to America for the Club World Cup, insisting that the Blues’ aim will always be to win games.
The tournament, which officially kicks off on June 14, features 32 top teams from around the world, including Manchester City, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Bayern Munich. Chelsea will play their first match against Los Angeles FC on June 16, followed by games against Flamengo and ES Tunis.
Maresca praised America’s fans, revealing his ambition to win, and heaping praise on Cole Palmer. “When you are at Chelsea, your goal is always to win,” Maresca said.
“So, our goal, each and every single game, will always be to try to win.” He also highlighted the opportunity for Chelsea to face top coaches and world-class teams in the tournament.
The Italian manager expressed his excitement about participating in the Club World Cup, citing the chance to unite people through football and showcase Chelsea’s talent. With the winners receiving up to £97 million ($125 million), the stakes are high, and Maresca is determined to lead Chelsea to success.
Maresca also praised Cole Palmer, saying he is “up there with the very best top players who can produce something at any moment, create something out of nothing.”
The Club World Cup will provide Palmer with a chance to experience the environment in North America and introduce himself to the local fans.
