Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says Cole Palmer is fully fit and available to start against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Enzo Maresca announced today that Cole Palmer has cleared his fitness test and is ready to feature in Chelsea’s clash with Arsenal.
The forward has been sidelined for ten weeks, battling a recurring groin issue and a fractured toe from a home accident, but he’s finally back in contention for the Premier League fixture.
Palmer’s last full 90 minutes was on September 17, when he scored in Chelsea’s 3‑1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich. Since then, he’s managed just two Premier League starts this season, making his return a major boost for the Blues.
“He is available for both,” Maresca said, confirming Palmer can start or come off the bench. “Good news for both. Everyone is happy, teammates are happy. The most important thing is that Cole is happy – football players want to play games.”
Maresca also hinted at a potential partnership with Estevão, who shone in Chelsea’s 3‑0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday. “They can play together. Depends on the team and the game plan, but for sure they are excited, the fans are excited to watch both together.”
Chelsea are on a shaky run against Arsenal, having won just one of their last 11 Premier League meetings and remaining winless in the last seven, a streak stretching back to August 2021.
Maresca will be hoping he can change that on Sunday.
