Would the prospect of playing at the Theatre of Dreams appeal to the youngster if he cannot get his chance at Madrid?
Needless to say, Endrick is enjoying his time at Lyon. The Real Madrid forward joined the French side on loan in January and has now scored five goals in nine appearance, proving that he is exactly the sort of precocious talent he was made out to be when the Spanish club signed him from Palmeiras in 2024 (an agreement reached in 2022 when he was 16).
Last week, Endrick’s agent made clear the player was not going to stay in France beyond the end of his loan deal in the summer. Endrick had agreed to the move only because he needed regular playing time in order to stand a chance of making the Seleção ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
“Endrick will return to Real Madrid at the end of the season,” said Tiago Freitas, the 19-year-old’s agent. “He’s on loan and at the end of the season, Endrick will be again a Real Madrid player.”

Of course, the player has been linked with a number of other clubs, especially in the Premier League. Chelsea are never ones to turn away from young talent and while Manchester United spent £250m last summer signing forwards and are expected to prioritise their midfield next, the recent performances of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko has shown that Old Trafford is far from the burial ground of talent it has been made out to be in recent seasons.
Would the prospect of playing at the Theatre of Dreams appeal to a player like Endrick if he cannot get his chance at Madrid?
“I cannot predict the future,” Freitas said helpfully. “Endrick is only thinking about the next game. It’s always about the next game.”
He added: “When you arrive at a club [Real Madrid] where eight of the 10 best players in the world are already there, it’s normal for an 18-year-old to get limited minutes on the pitch.
“However, he didn’t do the preseason, he didn’t go to the Club World Cup and he was out for several months [with a hamstring injury]. At a club like Real Madrid, that penalises you a lot.”
