Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has urged his team to believe in a historic comeback against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League quarterfinals.
After a 3-1 first-leg loss in France, Villa must now overturn a two-goal deficit at home. In the previous leg, Aston Villa were blown away by PSG, and Emery got an unfavourable return to Paris. Aston Villa will now look to make a comeback at home.
Emery emphasized the importance of belief, teamwork, and the powerful Villa Park atmosphere as key factors in staging an upset.
He highlighted the form of striker Ollie Watkins, who recently returned from a knee issue and scored as a substitute in Villa’s 3-0 Premier League win against Southampton.
The former PSG manager, in a press conference, called for a collective effort, drawing motivation from the fans to help overcome the deficit and pursue a place in the semi-finals.
