Inter Milan came into this game to stretch their lead at the top of the Serie A table, but they knew Juventus would be no pushovers. This game was billed to be an exciting one, and it delivered on its promise.
Both teams came out guns-a-blazing, and it was a delightful watch with twists and turns. Both sides were buzzing with energy, but it was Inter who drew first blood as Cambiaso scored an own goal to the disappointment of his teammates.Ā
11 minutes later, Cambiaso redeemed himself by pulling Juventus level with a fine strike from inside the box. With under an hour gone, it was already shaping up to be an action-filled game. However, the game took a turn when Kalulu was shown a red card, reducing Juventus to 10 men just before half-time.
Coming into the second half, Inter felt the game was winnable, and with a man advantage, they went all out. They controlled the game for the first twenty minutes of the second half, launching crosses and a barrage of shots which Juventus were lucky not to concede from.
The Juventus wall was eventually breached in the 76th minute when Pio Esposito rose the highest to meet a pinpoint cross from Dimarco. The goal threw the home crowd into a frenzy as Inter took the lead.Ā
The home advantage and one spare man didnāt stop Juventus from trying again. From the moment it became 2-1, the game felt open, and with the pressure from Juventus, there was a feeling that something was left for them in the game.
With a sudden twist to the tale, Juventus launch an attack and, pouncing on a pass from McKennie, Locatelli fires into the bottom corner to make it 2-2. The game was frantic, and the atmosphere was livid.
Inter pressed for more, with Di Gregorio denying Bisseck from long range. He also denied Calhanoglu from close range to keep it at 2-2. However, Di Gregario could do nothing about Zielinskiās shot in the 89th minute.Ā
Latching onto Bisseckās pass, Zielinski rifles a shot past the onrushing Locatelli, and the shot blazes past the Juventus defence, leaving Di Gregorio wrong-footed and floating voraciously into the net. It was like a dagger to the heart of Juventus. After a strong performance to make it 2-2, they were condemned by the sheer power of Zielinskiās shot.Ā
Piotr Zielinski’s goal in added time gives Inter the three points against 10-man Juventus.
The visitors managed to find two equalisers in the game, including Manuel Locatelli’s strike in the 83rd minute.
