When PSG played Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, it was end-to-end stuff. It was thick, fast and frantic. You couldn’t predict what would happen next.

In all of this, all eyes turned to Donnarumma, who time and time again made impressive saves to keep the Emirates silent and in awe. Raya may have had more work to do, but Donnarumma pulled out all the stops to keep his team in the lead and ahead in the tie.

Since PSG lost 1-0 to Liverpool in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Donnarumma has proven why he is one of the best goalkeepers in the game

He came under criticism after Harvey Elliott scored to give Liverpool the lead in the Parc de Princes, but since then, he has come into his element in the UCL.

In the return leg, he denied Liverpool’s frontline before delivering a world-class performance in the penalty shootout.

Once again at the Emirates, he showed his class. He denied Trossard and Martinelli from close range to deny Arsenal registering a goal on the night. He was quick, decisive and just excellent on the night. He could just not be beaten.

He was quick to dispel set-pieces, which is an area that Arsenal were known to exploit. Although he was beaten in the second half, the goal was called off for offside.

In a match where PSG were cautious and not given to mistakes, Donnarumma kept his defense line in check. Going past Marquinhos and Pacho was a hassle, only to be met by this Italian wonder.

He definitely put up a masterclass performance yesterday just like he did against Liverpool and Villa. PSG will be counting on him to replicate this form as they chase their first-ever Champions League title.
