United have shown interest in the Italy international after poor performance from Andre Onana

Manchester United target Gianluigi Donnarumma has been omitted from Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for Wednesday’s Super Cup match against Tottenham.

The move adds to speculation that the goalkeeper could leave Paris before the end of the transfer window.

United have shown interest in the Italy international, who has just one year left on his contract at PSG. The Premier League side have a goalkeeping situation to address, with first choice Andre Onana being both injured and unreliable after a series of high-profile errors that cost the club dearly last season.

The club’s second choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has equally been hugely unconvincing.

Donnarumma’s absence from the squad comes days after PSG confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille, a move widely seen as preparation for Donnarumma’s possible departure.

Chevalier is expected to feature in the match at Udinese’s Stadio Friuli, with PSG seeking to win the Super Cup for the first time in their history after winning their first Champions League trophy last season.

Donnarumma joined PSG from AC Milan in 2021 and has been first-choice for much of his time at the club. He was hugely impressive in the club’s run to the Champions League last season, making crucial saves in the knockout stages as Luis Enrique’s side claimed Europe’s biggest prize.
