There are reports that Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jnr., and while some sources have come out to debunk this rumor, we take a quick look at the possibility of Vinicius signing for Chelsea.

Should Vinicius sign for Chelsea? Well, that’s not my question to answer but what I can answer and discuss is if Chelsea really need Vinicius assuming there is an iota of truth to the rumors.

Chelsea spent heavily last summer on wingers, bringing in Garnacho and Gittens from Manchester United and Dortmund. However, these players are yet to get things running at Stamford Bridge, at least, not to the standard many Chelsea fans expect.

Now, there are reports that Chelsea are back in the market and after seeing Semenyo go to Manchester City, rumors have it that Chelsea are looking at Vinicius from Real Madrid.

Vinicius has come under fire at Real Madrid and his performances in the past 3 months have put him on the lips of many transfer experts. He’s been linked with a move away from the club and Chelsea seem like his next destination.

But does Chelsea really need Vinicius?

Honestly, they might be better off. Vinicius definitely has the talent and as an experienced Champions League winner, many might think that Chelsea could really use him.

However in the dressing room, he’s a different person. He’s made the news many times for his behavior and Chelsea with their young squad seem very particular about protecting the atmosphere in the dressing room. Bringing Vinicius in could change the atmosphere in the dressing room and his ego could give new coach Liam Rosenior a lot of work to do.

If Chelsea still are interested, they could get Vinicius in, but honestly, they could be better off. Develop these young players, get them up and running, and grind out results.
