Napoli’s chances of closing the gap on leaders Inter Milan have been dealt a significant blow as David Neres has been ruled out of tomorrow’s Scudetto showdown.
Neres hasn’t recovered from an ankle injury sustained during Napoli’s 2-0 win over Lazio last weekend.
Neres, who missed the midweek draw with Hellas Verona, was hoping to make a swift return to action, but latest tests have confirmed he won’t be available for tomorrow’s clash. This is a major disappointment for Napoli, who were counting on Neres’ contribution in the crucial title match.
The Partenopei are already facing a depleted squad, with Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, Kevin De Bruyne, Billy Gilmour, and Romelu Lukaku all absent.
Noa Lang and Eljif Elmas are likely to start up front alongside Rasmus Hojlund, while Leonardo Spinazzola is expected to return to the starting lineup.
