Cristian Chivu has warned that “the dangers are always just around the corner in Serie A” after Inter beat Parma 2-0 to go four points clear of Napoli.

Chivu emphasized the importance of attitude and ambition on the pitch, saying Inter played with maturity to break down Parma’s low block.

Chivu highlighted the tricky conditions, including the weather, but praised Inter’s performance. “We played with maturity trying to break down their low block, putting a few more crosses in than in recent matches,” he said.

The win sets up a crucial Scudetto showdown with Napoli on Sunday. Chivu downplayed the significance of statistics, saying, “what matters is the hunger and ambition shown on the pitch.” He believes Serie A is unpredictable, with no team to be underestimated.

Chivu made changes to Inter’s lineup, resting players ahead of the Napoli clash, but Manuel Akanji kept his spot. “He is important for the team, just as Bisseck, Acerbi and De Vrij are,” Chivu said, praising Carlos Augusto’s performance too.

Inter faced a tough test in Parma, with Parma creating scoring opportunities and hitting the frame of the goal. Chivu noted Parma’s of quick teammates like Ondrejka and Oristanio.

Chivu stressed the need for concentration when facing a low block, saying, “you risk getting a bit too impressed with your own ability to pass the ball around.” Inter must stay focused to maintain their lead at the top.
