Como and Inter Milan played out a tense 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
Como, making their first appearance in the last four of the Coppa Italia since 1986, dominated the first half, enjoying most of the possession and keeping Inter on the back foot.

However, they failed to capitalize on their chances, with Mergim Vojvoda’s curling effort in the 42nd minute going just wide.
Inter, the runaway Serie A leaders, struggled to trouble Como goalkeeper Jean Butez, managing just one shot in the first half. They looked more adventurous after the break, making several substitutions, but still failed to create much.
Como had a gilt-edged chance to take the lead five minutes after the restart, but Alex Valle miscued a cross from Hrvoje Smolcic, allowing Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez to breathe a sigh of relief.
The match was characterized by a lack of adventure from both sides, with neither team willing to give anything away ahead of the second leg.
Como’s performance was a surprise, given Inter’s Serie A dominance. They remain just three points adrift of the top four and are pushing for a maiden Champions League appearance.
The second leg will be played towards the end of April, and both teams will focus on their Serie A objectives in the meantime. Inter leads the table by 10 points, while Como is looking to secure a top-four finish.
