Arsenal and PSG are two formidable clubs with outstanding players, but in one way or the other, some of their players outperform the other.
Ahead of the UEFA Champions League semi-final clash between both teams, I decided to make a combined 11 of both teams based on experience and ability to perform across various seasons.
This is an opinion.
In goal, Gianluigi Donnarumma edges out David Raya due to his shot-stopping ability and experience in high-pressure matches.

The back four includes Gabriel Magalhaes from Arsenal, one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season. You can argue about Saliba not being there, but to me, the main defensive player at Arsenal is Gabriel, even though he’s injured currently. He is joined by PSG’s Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi. Mendes wins the left-back position because of his pace and ball control.
Hakimi takes the right-back position because he has undoubtedly proved himself over the years. He has now added goal scoring to his game and despite being in the Ligue 1, he has been rated highly as one of the best RBs in the game
The midfield trio is balanced with Declan Rice anchoring, Martin Ødegaard providing creativity, and Vitinha offering dynamic movement and ball retention.
PSG’s Joao Neves is a fantastic player and his partnership with Vitinha helps PSG play their high tempo football but he doesn’t come close to Rice who can drive past players, sit deep and dictate play or recently, score when you least expect.

This combination of Rice , Odegaard and Vitinha who Thierry Henry has referred to as one who plays a different sport,’ ensures control, aggression, and artistry in the center of the park.
In attack, there’s no doubt Kvaratskhelia leads the line from the left. Bukayo Saka claims the right-wing spot thanks to his consistent contributions for Arsenal. Down the middle, Dembele takes the lead. His form this season has caused many to wonder at his ability and he can play anywhere across the front three, giving room for fluidity.
This XI represents the best of both clubs: Arsenal’s structure and unity combined with PSG’s explosive talent and flair. It’s a mouthwatering mix that speaks volumes about the level of talent on display in this semi-final.

Hard to argue with this! The question is whether this side could beat either of the two original sides. If it’s something you think over, that just speaks to the level of quality from the unpicked players as well
