Chelsea have done it again. Champions of the world for the second time in their history. The game was a revelation. Chelsea floored PSG.

Club World Cup champions, that’s Chelsea’s new title. Chelsea were totally rampant against PSG and they have one man to thank, Cole Palmer. In a game where many expected PSG to dominate following their excellent performances in the Club World Cup and in the UCL final against Inter Milan, Chelsea showed that they weren’t here to play.

From kickoff, you could sense the aura in Enzo Maresca’s team. They countered PSG’s press. In the first few minutes, they had a chance from Cole Palmer which was just a few meters wide. Before PSG could blink, Chelsea were onto them.

PSG had a few chances through Doue but Sanchez was equal to the task. It was a balanced game until Chelsea drew first blood. The Blues went ahead through Cole Palmer in the 22nd minute. He found himself in space at the edge of the box and slotted it calmly past Donnarumma to give Chelsea the lead.

Eight minutes later, he was on the scoresheet again. He latched onto a through ball from the defense, beat his marker and slotted it again into the bottom right corner. Chelsea were enjoying life in America.

PSG were shell shocked. They weren’t their usual selves but Chelsea weren’t done yet. Just before halftime, Chelsea were at it again. Cole Palmer delivered a sublime pass into the box which found the run of João Pedro. João Pedro was face to face with Donnarumma and he calmly chipped the ball over him.

3-0 at halftime and it was done and dusted. Chelsea had it easy in the second half. Liam Delap who came on as a substitute had two chances to make it 4-0 but Donnarumma was equal to the task. Before the final whistle, Chelsea fans were jubilating because they were already Champions.

After the final whistle, there was a collision involving João Pedro and Luis Enrique. Maresca and the other players quickly had to intervene.

Cole Palmer walked home with the player of the tournament award for his performances in the competition.
