Giorgio Chiellini confirms Juventus have ended talks for Youssef En-Nesyri after the striker rejected the proposed deal.

Juventus director Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed that the club’s pursuit of Youssef En-Nesyri is over, after the striker rejected the proposed transfer from Fenerbahçe.

The Bianconeri had been confident of completing the move and were expecting to bring En-Nesyri back from Istanbul for a medical, with the deal structured as a loan move including an option to buy at the end of the season.

However, those plans collapsed late on Wednesday, with reports suggesting the Morocco international had reservations about the terms of the transfer. Juventus director Marco Ottolini returned to Turin alone, signalling a breakdown in negotiations.

Speaking to reporters, Chiellini made it clear that the club’s position is firm and that there is little room for compromise on the structure of the deal.

“We went to speak to the player and he expressed a few doubts about the formula of the transfer,” Chiellini explained. “For us, right now, the negotiations are over. We cannot and do not want to buy him outright.”

Chiellini added that Juventus will now shift their focus elsewhere, leaving the door only slightly open should circumstances change, while making it clear the club will explore alternative options in the coming days as they look to strengthen their squad before the window closes.
