Jamie Gittens expressed his disappointment at missing out on the Club World Cup due to joining Chelsea just 10 days before the final. 

Despite not being able to participate, Gittens was in America to watch his new side lift the trophy. “It was difficult because I wanted to be part of that team playing in that tournament but I’m here now and that’s the main thing.”

Gittens was full of praise for Estevao’s debut performance, describing it as “amazing.” Estevao’s skill and attributes impressed Gittens, who noted that the Brazilian’s talent is evident in training. “We’ve seen it in training every day. He’s been here for a week and he’s already done mad things in training, so to see it today was just one part of him doing it every day.”

The competition for wing positions at Chelsea is fierce, but Gittens seems unfazed. He believes the intense competition will help him become a better player.

“It’s going to help me be a better player in the future. Training feels like a game every day. You can’t have an off day. Having this competition will really help the team in general to be at a higher standard.”

Gittens is confident about Chelsea’s chances in the Premier League this season. The team’s success in the Europa Conference League and Club World Cup has boosted their confidence. “Yes, of course. We’re confident from the tournament we played in. Everyone’s feeling good, so it will be a very exciting season for us to push ahead.”
