Still in a slump, Chelsea will host Port Vale in a FA Cup clash, which they cannot afford to lose

Chelsea are in crisis, both on and off the pitch, but they have a chance to correct on-pitch issues this weekend when they play Port Vale in the FA Cup.

Since their first-leg to PSG in the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea have been on a four-game losing streak, and matters could become worse if they were to lose to Port Vale on Saturday.

While Port Vale have a story of their own in the FA Cup, Chelsea have an exceptional record against lower-league opposition, winning each of their last 37 cup ties – including 25 in the FA Cup – since they suffered a surprise 4-2 fourth-round defeat at home to Bradford City in 2015.

Team News

Chelsea will be without Reece James, Jamie Gittens (both thigh), Levi Colwill (knee), Trevoh Chalobah (ankle), Filip Jorgensen (groin), but Benoit Badiashile should be fit to return after missing the defeat at Everton through illness.

Chelsea have also suspended Enzo Fernández for their next two games, which means he will also be unavailable. Rosenior, however, confirmed that Estevao and Gittens are fit, which is good news.

As for Port Vale, they are set to be without Ben Heneghan, George Byres, and Jayden Stockley due to injury, while Ryan Croasdale will be assessed ahead of kickoff.
