After suffering humiliation against PSG in the UCL, Chelsea must pick up the pace when they face Newcastle this weekend
Both Chelsea and Newcastle return from midweek action in the UCL, but while Newcastle still have a realistic chance of qualifying after playing out a 1-1 draw against Barcelona, Chelsea must embark on a wild chase if they want to come back from the 5-2 loss against PSG.
Chelsea were still in the tie up to the 70th minute, but an unforced error from Jorgensen and two late goals from Kvaratskhelia took the tie away from them. Rosenior has questions to answer, especially with his decision to start Jorgensen over Sanchez, and fans will be monitoring to see who starts this weekend.
Ahead of the tie, Chelsea have a bit of history on their side. Chelsea are yet to lose to Newcastle at Stamford Bridge since 2012, and the Blues will be hoping that in this time, when they need a boost, Newcastle don’t break this record.

Team News
Rosenior’s team are close to full strength, with Levi Colwill the only long-term absentee with a knee injury, while Estevao and Jamie Gittens could return in some capacity this weekend.
As for Newcastle, Saturday’s match is expected to come too soon for Lewis Miley, who may return sometime in the next week to 10 days. While Miley is nearing a comeback, Fabian Schar (ankle), Bruno Guimaraes (thigh), and Emil Krafth (knee) are definite absentees for the Magpies’ trip to the Bridge.
