Chelsea vs Everton: Team News, Predicted XI

Chelsea have a chance to turn their bad run of form around when they face Everton over the weekend.

Since beating Barcelona, Chelsea are yet to record a win in all competitions. They have just one point from their last two Premier League games while suffering a 2-1 loss to Atalanta during the week.

While they seek a win against Everton this weekend, it won’t be easy.

Since David Moyes’s first game back in charge of Everton on January 15 this year, only Arsenal, Manchester City (both 13) and Chelsea (11) have recorded more Premier League victories without conceding than the Toffees (10).

Everton are also coming into this game off a 3-0 win over Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest. Chelsea will have to play better than they have in their past three games if they are to come out with a win against the Toffees.

Team News

Chelsea will still be without Moises Caicedo who is serving his final suspension after the red card against Arsenal.

Cole Palmer is expected to start against Everton while Maresca is hopeful that Fofana’s freak accident against Atalanta would’ve worn out before Saturday morning.

As for Everton, Seamus Coleman, Jarrad Branthwaite (both hamstring) and Merlin Rohl (hernia) all remain sidelined with injuries, while Thierno Barry should be fit to feature despite sustaining a minor shoulder problem after scoring his first goal for the club in last weekend’s win over Forest.

Midfield duo Idrissa Gueye and Tim Iroegbunam are both available to return after serving suspensions.
